Swapping the Dress
Was this woman here to gloat?
Charlotte was already seething, and now Isabella had come to
deliberately provoke her. Naturally, she was furious and shoved Isabella.
In the commotion, the wine glass. slipped from Isabella’s hand,
splashing crimson liquid all over Charlotte’s white dress, instantly leaving a large stain. She looked
quite a sight.
Charlotte glanced down, eyes practically shooting flames.
This dress had been custom–made
for her by a foreign designer hired by her parents. The fabric alone cost over a million. Today was her first time wearing it, and now…

“Charlotte, why did you push me?”
Isabella looked at her with an
innocent face, not a hint of apology
in her eyes.
Charlotte wanted to lash out but had
no grounds to do so. After all, everyone had seen her shove
Isabella, causing the wine to spill on
her dress.
There was still some time before the
party ended. According to Evelyn, Alexander’s sister would be arriving soon. Naturally, Charlotte didn’t want to leave a bad impression on Alexander’s family.
Evelyn had plenty of dresses, but their figures were quite different, so none would fit Charlotte properly.
Charlotte’s gaze shifted to Isabella’s outfit, eyes darkening.
“You, swap the dress with me.”

Isabella looked at her with a pitiful
expression.
“Why should I? It’s not like I
deliberately ruined your dress.
Clearly, you…”
“Enough with the nonsense. Change clothes with me right now, or I’ll tell Mom and Dad when we get back.”
“Don’t tell them. I’ll swap with you.”
Isabella pretended to be intimidated, putting on a meek and timid air.
The two found an empty room in
the villa to change. Isabella didn’t
linger and sauntered out the door of the Wraithwood estate.
Across the street was a coffee shop. Isabella headed straight to the
second floor. A server approached,
glancing at her filthy dress with
confusion.

gaze to the window. From here, she
had a clear view of the Wraithwood
entrance.
Taking out her phone, she found
Alexander’s number and dialed.
The call was quickly answered, and
Alexander’s chillingly cold voice came through.
“Isabella, you finally deigned to call
me?”
“Mr. Alexander, I can give your father the injection, but I have a

On the other end, Alexander’s brow furrowed deeply.
This wretched woman not only hung up on him but now dared to make
demands.
But he had already consulted others.

condition. He had to swallow his
anger for now. He uttered a frosty:
“Speak out.”
“Today, don’t let Cecilia go.
anywhere, especially not to the Wraithwood. If you don’t agree…”
“Fine.”
Alexander had no patience to argue with this woman and ended the call.
Isabella hadn’t expected Alexander to agree so readily. She was stunned for a moment, then put away her phone. The show was about to begin.
Because Cecilia wasn’t coming,
Evelyn’s party ended early.
Charlotte had barely stepped out the Wraithwood door when two tall men
suddenly blocked her path. Before she could make a sound, a fragrant
