“Alex, bringing a woman like that home is sure to anger grandfather,” Cecilia warned, attempting to dissuade him by invoking Master Windsor.
“Grandfather will like her.”
Alexander’s chilly response was followed by him nonchalantly taking Isabella’s hand and heading towards the main hall.
This smooth action made Isabella wonder just how many women he had led this way before.
Attempting to free her hand, she
found Alexander’s grip unexpectedly strengthen, causing her slight pain.
“Behave. If you ruin this, that orphanage won’t stand a chance.”

His threat hit à nerve. Isabella’s primary concern was indeed the welfare of Harborlight Sanctuary.
Master Windsor, already aware of the commotion outside, brightened upon seeing the pair enter with their hands clasped together.
Isabella met Master Windsor’s gaze
from afar, taken aback by his ecstatic
expression, as if he had discovered
treasure
and it seemed she was that
treasure in his eyes.
“Finally, my granddaughter–in–law,
come sit down. You must be exhausted from the journey,” Master Windsor greeted warmly, confusing Isabella further; they had traveled in a luxury car, after all.
“Master Windsor, I’m not your granddaughter–in–law…”
Isabella awkwardly tried to clarify, glancing at Alexander and finding him

Seeing his sister, a rare smile appeared on Alexander’s face as he affectionately tousled her hair.
“How’s grandfather?”
“The same. Refuses to take his
medicine, so no improvement,” Cecilia frowned, then her gaze shifted to Isabella. Recognition dawned; she remembered seeing her at school.
Isabella, an orphan adopted by The Sterling, why would Alex bring her here?
“Alex, she is…”
“My girlfriend,” Alexander stated calmly, showing no sign of deceit.
Alex, are you out of your mind? You could have any woman you want, why her? Do you have any idea? She’s
infamous at school!”

Perhaps too excited or simply because
of his condition, Master Windsor
began to cough violently, prompting a servant to quickly offer a handkerchief.
When the coughing subsided, the handkerchief was stained with a
shocking patch of blood red.
