Chapter 120
Naomi did not notice the air stewardess‘ gaze on Scott. She was arranging the dishes seriously.
She was taken aback when she heard the air stewardess‘ question, and visibly so. She never thought that an air stewardess would ask such a question.
Perhaps she had a reason.
Naomi looked at the air stewardess and asked, “Why?”
Naomi gave no direct answer; it was her choice and her privacy. She did not have to answer a question she did not find particularly important.
Scott was still reading his magazine. There were no changes in his gaze as if he did not notice their conversation.
The air stewardess smiled. “Our company has a campaign, especially for ladies. Three women with partners will be selected for the campaign. The selected women will get to bring their partners along on a week–long free trip to Maldiva to make a promotional video for the airline.
The air stewardess added, “You’re very pretty, miss. I’m sure you have a boyfriend, right?”
Naomi finally understood. She was considered one of the ones who had been selected. She smiled and replied, “I’m sorry. You should find other people.”
She refused to join the campaign, but she did not fully answer the air stewardess‘ question. Clearly, this was not enough for her to reveal her privacy.
The air stewardess was relentless. She continued asking, “You really don’t have a boyfriend?”
It seemed like she was not going to give up until she got her answer. Naomi helplessly replied, “No.”
“Ah, I see. What a pity.‘
Naomi smiled and said nothing.
At that moment, Scott finished reading the magazine and placed it back in its original place. The air stewardess immediately looked over.
He had a ring on his left ring finger.
Her hopes were instantly doused. Scott’s ring was loudly declaring to everyone that he was taken.
The air stewardess had to give up. “Enjoy your meal.”
Naomi nodded. She maintained a polite smile.
The air stewardess left and returned with two cups of warm water. Scott placed a cup in front of Naomi. Naomi thanked him and drank the water.
The meal had been set. They could start eating.
Scott picked up his cutlery. As usual, he passed Naomi some food.
Naomi paused for a while before saying, “It’s fine. I can manage.‘

Scott did not reply. He ate elegantly. He still gave Naomi food from time to time, as if what Naomi said did not affect his decision at all.
Naomi looked at the food on her plate. She parted her lips and wanted to say something but found herself at a loss.
There were some things she did not understand, yet she would seem to annoy others if she mentioned it, so she would prefer to keep her mouth shut.
Naomi did not notice the fact that Scott had been wearing the wedding ring she put on for him at their wedding. He did not take it off.
Their three–hour–long flight finally landed at about 8 p.m., and it was already dark by then. The city was brightly lit.
Naomi followed Scott out of the plane and collected their luggage. They headed straight out.
A thin, handsome man stood at the entrance. When he saw them appear from the VIP section, he immediately waved to Scott and flashed a bright smile.
“You’re here! I’ve been waiting for ages!” He looked at Scott approaching him. He was in a great mood.
Scott passed the baggage to him; no hesitation there.
The man accepted them but retorted, “Are you trying to kill me?!”
