Let’s Start All Over Again, Shall We? Chapter 17

Chapter 17 I Heard I’m Not Good?

Nathael paused for a moment and gazed at the woman in his arms.

She had already fallen asleep. Her long eyelashes were slightly drooping and well–defined. Perhaps due to the wine she had consumed, her lips were rosy and translucent, giving her an innocent and harmless appearance.

Nathael didn’t know who those words were intended for, but he was certain they were not meant for him.

Suppressing his thoughts, he changed her into loose clothing and gently placed her in bed.

The room was dimly lit, emitting a faint warmth.

Nathael sat by the bed, listening to her steady breathing, his eyes growing darker.

Just then, Maggie’s phone rang again.

Initially, Nathael wanted to hang up, but his finger involuntarily paused when he saw the caller ID “Joseph” on the screen.

The phone continued to ring. Nathael frowned as he answered it.

“Hello, Maggie? Why aren’t you responding to my messages? Are you sure the data you copied from Nathael is accurate?”

Joseph’s gentle voice came through the receiver, but his words were particularly harsh.

Nathael tugged at his thin lips, his eyes turning dark and cold.

The Camerons were truly skilled at manipulation. Despite being a prestigious family, they had to rely on a woman to get things done.

“Maggie? Are you listening? I don’t mean anything else. The Adams family is always against us, and our situation is not favorable at the moment. We need to be cautious.”

Not receiving any response, Joseph explained once again.

“Maggie…”

Nathael had no interest in listening any further. He coldly interrupted, “She’s asleep.”

The unfamiliar male voice caused Joseph to pause for a few seconds. He never expected the person on the other end of the phone to be a man..

He subconsciously glanced at the time. It was eleven o’clock at night.

“Who are you? Why are you with Maggie? What have you done to her?” Joseph’s voice was somewhat lagitated.

Unfortunately, Nathael hung up the phone before he could finish his sentence.

Perhaps this call had annoyed him. Nathael simply turned off Maggie’s phone and tossed it aside.

Why could it be Joseph or Ericko, but not him?

Desire surged uncontrollably, like a wild beast breaking free from its cage, wild and unstoppable. Nathael’s long eyelashes cast a shadow in the moonlight.

His gaze swept over her rosy lips. He bent down, restraining himself, and lightly kissed her hair.

“Goodnight, Maggie.”

Maggie had a dreamless night and slept well, but she still felt groggy when she woke up.

She looked at the unfamiliar room and was momentarily dazed.

The simple, spacious bed, the high–quality silver–grey bedding, the excessively cold decoration style… it was clearly not her house.

She sat up and remained stunned for a while. What happened last night?

Her memory seemed to have faded after she drank that wine. But she remembered that this was Nathael’s. house.

Did she actually spend the night at his house?

Looking at her oversized pajamas, Maggie swallowed and felt a bit confused about the situation.

Did they sleep together?

Or not?

This was driving her insane!

Maggie got up and didn’t see Nathael, so she quickly took a shower.

After coming out of the bathroom, she turned on her phone and ignored Joseph’s messages. Then, she “made a video call to Mia.

“Maggie! Where the hell did you go? You didn’t answer my calls all night!”

The call was answered after a while. Mia’s voice came through the receiver, roaring. After Maggie dialed her last night, her phone had been off when Mia tried to call back.

Mia’s ears hurt from the shouting, so she moved the phone further away. She walked to the window, pulled open the white curtain, and let the sunlight instantly fill the room.

I’m at Nathael’s house.”

Maggie pondered for a moment but didn’t know where to begin.

Mia removed the eye mask from her forehead, sat up in bed wearing a seductive silk nightgown, and frowned. She asked, “Did Nathael sleep with you?”

Maggie paused for a moment.

“Mia! Watch your lanmagel What do you mean I clent with him?”

Then what?”

“It’s more like I slept with him!” Maggie retorted.

Mia chuckled and lazily tousled her messy hair. “Take a look at yourself in the mirror. See how pale and lifeless your face is, how pitiful you look after being intimate. Tell me, how many times were you forced to call him daddy?”

Maggie was furious. She almost choked and nearly spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Mia, I solemnly declare that you have lost your little sweetheart forever!”

“Alright, alright. You’ve had your way with him. You were in control, and he was submissive. You trained him to meow like a cat. The mighty Mr. Harris cried and begged for your mercy!” Mia curved her red lips and quickly corrected herself.

Maggie couldn’t say anything.

D*mn it! Why was she feeling so inexplicably embarrassed?

She was innocent, but somehow, she felt extremely ashamed after Mia’s words.

“So, how was Nathael’s performance?” Mia’s eyes twinkled with curiosity, unable to resist gossiping.

“He wasn’t very good.” Maggie raised her eyebrow and spoke seriously.

Apart from last night, she didn’t feel much during their night at the hotel.

She clearly remembered Nathael saying in her previous life that he didn’t touch her that night. But last night, he didn’t deny it.

So if they did sleep together, then he might not be very skilled.

Before she could speak, Mia continued, “It seems the rumors are true.”

“What rumors?” Maggie was pulled back from her thoughts.

Mia gathered her hair and went to the bathroom to wash up. “The rumors said he’s not good and has problems in that area…”

Maggie was stunned for a few seconds. Because of the sound of water, she didn’t hear Mia’s last words clearly.

But she could make a rough guess even if she didn’t hear clearly.

Was Nathael not good?

Maggie stared out the window in a daze. Could it be that in her previous life, their lack of intimacy was due to his inability?

“Maggie, you need to think carefully. Nathael may have a handsome face that incites envy, but you must consider your own happiness.

After ending the call Marrje wat erill shocked buthe news that “Nathael waen’t mood“.

One should not judge a book by its cover. Who would have thought that the powerful Mr. Harris would… would…

He’s so unfortunate!

A touch of sympathy appeared in Maggie’s eyes. She shook her head and planned to get some water to calm her nerves. However, as soon as she stepped out of the room, she collided with a strong and warm embrace.

“Ow!”

The cool scent of cedar filled her senses, familiar and refreshing.

Maggie was stunned for a few seconds, then looked up into a pair of dark and intense eyes. He stared at her. His eyes slightly narrowed and caused her throat to inexplicably tighten.

Maggic forced a smile, unsure of how much of their conversation he had overheard.

Ah, damn it!

How could he have eavesdropped on her phone call?

The next moment, Maggie was completely engulfed in his presence. Nathael’s large hand gripped her chin. He smirked, “So I heard I’m not good, huh?”
