Chapter 2
Micah felt uneasy. He hated everything he saw, everything he drank and every conversation he had throughout the day and night. He wanted to leave this pack as soon as possible.
She was not here.
That was the first thought that came to Micah’s mind when he saw all the women in the pack and felt nothing. None of them were his destined mate, the woman that he would spend the rest of his life with, someone that he would share that sacred bond with.
She was not here.
The very thought of not being able to find his own destined mate didn’t sit well with him. People said if he couldn’t find his destined mate, there was a high chance the woman would have already died.
Still, Micah couldn’t accept that..
But now, the reality was before his eyes. This was the last pack and none of these beautiful women were his mate.

“Are you okay?” Alan asked, leaning over his chair to whisper to the King. “Smile a little, please, your are scaring away all the women here.”
“Scared, huh?” Micah scoffed.
It was very clear these women were competing against each other to get his attention and this game started to bore him. The same kind of situation transpired in the last eight packs, too, so Micah was so done with them.
“Keep smiling, My King. This must be the Beta’s daughter.” His royal beta teased him to lighten his mood, but Micah was not feeling it at all.
The King was actually annoyed when Beta Ryan introduced his daughter, Hanna. She was beautiful, sweet and courteous, but it was not the one he was looking for.
“As far as I see, this Hanna is a perfect mate for you.” Alan tried to let Micah see his point of view. “She has the air of a queen.”
“She is not my mate.” Micah pointed out the elephant in the room.
Currently, Hanna was dancing with her two friends, but she kept glancing in his direction bashfully. Micah was not an idiot to not realize what she was up to. Despite the way she carried herself to look innocent and all, his instincts told him she was not that naïve.
None of these women, who appeared meek in front of him, was naive. They knew what kind of game they were playing and how to play it well.
“When will you accept it? This is getting… Where are you going?” Alan had not yet done talking
when Micah stood up from his honorable seat and walked away. Two of his guards tried to follow him, but he raised his hand to stop them.
Chapter 2
He wanted to be alone.
Seeing the King leave the party, a few people immediately came to Alan, asking what was going on and where the King was going.
“I am sure, the King must be tired. Please, continue with the party.” Alan tried his best to show his gentlest smile, but inside he couldn’t help but complain about the King’s stubbornness.
There was nothing wrong in having a chosen mate, right?!
Meanwhile, Micah walked around the pack house. He avoided the crowded places and ended in this
ict area, which he thought was a cluster of warehouses or something, because there were a few small buildings that were similar to one another.
He strolled around lightly while enjoying the night wind that caressed his skin for a bit. He then decided to go back to his bedroom. He wanted to return to the palace early in the morning. He didn’t want to spend another day here when all they did was shoving women under his nose.
However, his steps halted when the wind carried an interesting scent over from the east. This scent made him frown.
Micah disliked sweet things, but this sweet scent was an exception.
And when the wind carried the same scent over once again, this time stronger than the first time, Micah immediately knew what that meant.
“No way…” he mumbled to himself, as his legs moved out of instinct to follow the scent, looking for the source of it. Whose scent this belonged to.
Micah quickened his steps and there was no mistake in it now.
Mate!
His mate was here! She very close to him!
Where exactly was she?
was
Rather frantically, Micah looked around and his best guest was; his mate must be in one of these warehouses.
It was not a difficult feat to track down her scent and figure out the right warehouse, but when Micah tried to open the door, it was locked.
His first instinct was to tear it down, but then he didn’t want to startle his mate. This was not how he wanted to let their first meeting happen.
More so, when he took a second to understand the situation, he found something was wrong. Normally, both wolves would recognize their other half, in that case, wouldn’t his mate want to see him too? Didn’t she feel the same thing?
This was how one usually recognized their other half, after all.
“Is there someone inside?”

Chapter 2
Micah kept knocking.
“I know you are in there, open the door.”
The King became even more impatient. What was his mate doing inside the warehouse when all the people were out there, partying and why didn’t she want to come out?
voice.
After a few attempts, Micah’s patience had run very thin. You could hear it in his v
“Open the door now or I will tear it down.”
Only then there was this timid, small voice from inside. It didn’t sit well with Micah. She didn’t sound fine at all.
“Wh- who are you? I can’t go out. Please leave!”
Fear.
That was the first thing that came to Micah’s mind when he heard her trembling voice. She was scared and this made Micah take an impulsive decision to tear down the door, just like what he said
earlier.
However, the sight before his eyes made him growl viciously.
He was right. His mate was not fine.
