Chapter 55 Evidence.
“What… what? What camera?” Sierra was the first to speak. Her face tensed, and her eyes still carried a fading smile.
Ronald came downstairs holding a teddy bear and said in a deep voice, “I’ve searched all the rooms and found nothing related to the draft. However, I found this toy in Maggie’s room, and it happens to have a hidden camera inside.”
Sierra turned her head to look at Maggic, instinctively asking. “You actually placed a camera in your
room?
Maggie was stunned for a few seconds, her expression still somewhat blank.
“Is it turned on? Can it be used?” Master Cameron did not pay attention to their conversation but directly asked Ronald.
After all, at this moment, nothing was more important than the Herschire Cultural Park project.
“Maggie?” Ronald looked at Maggie.
Maggie stepped forward, took the small toy from his hand, and showed a look of realization. This is a gift from Lucas a while ago. He sent it here, so I just put it in my room after opening it when I came back to stay a few days ago.
“I remember he said it was a bear that can record videos and voices. It can even be connected to the internet to sing and chat… It seems very advanced…”
Maggie pretended not to fully understand. Since Olivia did not know the truth, she quickly said, “Lucas has always been interested in computer codes and stuff, so whatever he sends must be useful.”
Maggie took the brown, fluffy teddy bear and played with it for a while. “But even if it can be used for monitoring and recording, there should be a switch, right? When I received it, I pressed it a few times and couldn’t understand how it worked, so I just placed it on the desk as a regular toy.”
At this moment, Sierra’s heart tightened, her nervousness akin to standing on the edge of a cliff.
One step forward, a precipice; one step back, a complete victory.
Do not turn it on!
Do not turn it on!
Hopefully, Maggie did not understand how to activate the toy at all, so it did not start recording.
As long as it did not start, no one would find out that she did it, and Maggie would have to face the
consequences.
However… If the camera caught her….
Sierra did not dare to think about the consequences that awaited her.
Also, why did Lucas send such a thing to Maggie?

They were cousins, but he had always been closer to Maggie since they were children. He was not close to her and Joseph.
Now that he was abroad, he would still send gifts to Maggie.
Sierra was consumed by jealousy. She felt as if Maggie had taken everything that should have belonged to
her!
“Why don’t we contact Lucas and ask him if he knows how to use this thing?” Madam Cameron frowned and spoke, clearly lacking patience.
Just
then, Maggie, who had been playing with the toy, suddenly exclaimed, “I think it’s working!”
“Is it?” Master Cameron quickly stepped forward, eagerly taking the toy from her hand.
“I studied it for a while and I realized that the blue light is always on. There’s also a memory card inside. So, if we connect it to the computer, we should be able to see if it has recorded anything useful,” Maggie explained with excitement.
“Quick, bring the computer over.”
As soon as Master Cameron said that, a servant hurriedly brought over a laptop, and Maggie inserted the memory card.
Everyone gathered around the computer, and because it was difficult to see, Maggie even projected the screen onto the large TV in the living room.
Sierra stood on the outermost edge of the crowd. Her throat tightened, and her fingers trembled involuntarily by her side.
They would not find anything. They would not find anything!
It would not be so coincidental. Maggie could not be that lucky!
Sierra had never prayed as sincerely as she did at that moment.
Unfortunately, she was destined to be disappointed. It seemed that God did not hear her prayers.
The next moment, the scene of the day Maggie moved back in with the Camerons appeared on the screen.
After opening the package, Maggie played with the toy for a while before placing it on the desk. Then, the video footage began.
On Maggie’s first day back, she was busy unpacking her luggage. The figure on the screen arranged her things one by one, occasionally moving out of the camera’s view.
“Fast forward, Master Cameron urged.
Sierra’s heart pounded violently, almost leaping out of her throat. Her face was exceptionally pale.
She stood at the back of the crowd, unconsciously taking a few back.
steps
Except for Maggie, everyone’s attention was focused on the screen, so no one noticed Sierra’s movements.

ind pretended to have caught a glimpse of Sierra unintentionally.
What’s wrong, Sierra? You look so pale,” Olivia asked softly, but she had a bad feeling in her heart.

Ah, it’s nothing. I was just thinking about where this draft would end up, so I got lost in thought.” Sierra orced a smile, her expression stiff.
Others didn’t notice much, but Olivia quickly sensed that something was wrong with her daughter.
However, at that moment, almost the entire family was present, so she couldn’t say or ask anything even if he wanted to.
Are you sure you’re okay?” Olivia asked again, worried.
The big screen suddenly showed Sierra sneaking into the room. When Sierra caught sight of the screen. ind met Olivia’s gaze, her eyes immediately welled. with tears.
Following her gaze, Olivia’s heart skipped a beat.
D*mn it!
It was Sierra!
up
Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the big screen, and the entire living room fell silent, with only the occasional rustling sound from the screen.
Before long, everyone saw Sierra walk to Maggie’s desk. She quickly flipped through something and soon found Maggie’s draft.
The camera was placed on the desk, so Sierra’s actions were exceptionally clear due to the close distance, even though only half of her body was captured.
Everyone held their breath, and the next moment, they saw Sierra tear the thick stack of design drafts to shreds.
The sound of paper being torn apart reverberated through the silent living room. After the design drafts had been completely destroyed, Sierra emitted a cold laugh before grabbing the drafts and making her way to the bathroom.
Although there was no footage in the bathroom, the sound of the toilet flushing resonated for an extended period.
Only after some time had passed did Sierra return empty–handed, her gaze once again fixating on Maggie’s computer.
She grabbed Maggie’s mug, raised it high, and poured the water directly onto the computer. The camera couldn’t capture the screen of Maggie’s laptop, but Sierra’s triumphant expression made it evident that the computer had been irreparably damaged.
